Show Notes

In this episode, Pastor Ken and Kyle continue in their look at Holy Week in Luke's Gospel, by looking at some odd and hard sayings of Jesus in the upper room.

On the heels of Jesus's surprise announcement that one of them is going to betray him, the disciples argue about who's the greatest (and conversely, the worst) among them. Jesus's response includes telling Peter that Satan demanded to have him, but that Jesus prayed that his faith may not fail. Then Jesus predicts Peter's denial of him.

Jesus gets even more enigmatic when he tells them, "let the one who has no sword sell his cloak and buy one. For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in me." When his disciples say, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” He says to them, “It is enough.”

What does all this mean? What does it have to do with Holy Week? Why does Luke include these details? Listen as we unpack what's going on.
